Buying a car
Buy directly from the owner, with every listing verified, no time pressure, and one price that already includes our fee.
Step by step
- 1
Create your autobids ID
Sign up with your email. You need an ID to make offers or buy.
- 2
Browse by brand
Open a brand, then a model, and compare every owner's car by asking price, highest offer, mileage, area, transmission and manufacturing and registration year.
- 3
Watch, compare, set alerts
Save cars to your watchlist, compare up to three side by side, or set a price alert for a model.
- 4
Make an offer or buy now
Choose how you want to buy. Nothing is charged at this stage.
- 5
Pay the fee and get connected
When a price is agreed, you pay the autobids fee. Verify your identity once, and our team calls you and connects you to the seller.
- 6
Inspect, then decide
Meet the seller and check the car and papers. Not buying? Your fee is refunded. Buying? Pay the seller directly and finish the paperwork.
Offer or buy now
Make an offer
Offer below the asking price. Your offer stays open for 48 hours, and the seller can accept the highest offer or hold their price. Offers are how most cars sell, so a fair one is worth making.
Buy now
Pay the asking price and the car comes off the market. You'll pay the fee and our team will connect you with the seller.
Post a buyer offer
Not seeing the right car? Post what you'll pay for a model and year on its page. Any seller can sell to you.
What to check at the inspection
- The RC matches the seller's ID, the registration number on the car, and the engine and chassis numbers.
- Insurance is valid and there are no pending challans (you can check on the Parivahan portal).
- No hypothecation on the RC, or a bank NOC and Form 35 ready if there was a loan.
- Service records match the odometer reading.
- Panel gaps, paint differences, rust, flood signs, tyre wear and warning lights.
- A test drive of at least 15 minutes, including bad road and highway speed.
- Everything in the Verified by autobids box matches what you see. Tell us if anything doesn't.
If something isn't right
You're never obliged to buy after inspecting. Tell us you're walking away and we refund the autobids fee. If the car differs from the listing in a way that matters, tell us so we can act on the listing.
